Walking the River – Home Education Days
6 weeks from Thursday 26th October (more dates below)
Venue: Leigh River, Inverleigh
6 weeks of playing, walking, investigating, drawing, contemplating what goes on in and around the river.
The Leigh River in Inverleigh is a beautiful spot (a Fox Guild favourite!)
We love walking along the track and soaking in all that the river has to offer.
‘Walking the River’ is a series of 6 sessions where we will focus on water life, including bugs, shrimps, frogs (and we’ll try to catch a glimpse of the local platypus).
As we look at the different vegetation that grows near the river, we will talk about & share our knowledge about several edible weeds.
We will look for our own ‘sit spot’ for contemplation and spend moments drawing and writing in our Nature Journals.
Each week we will share a story and lunch together.
12pm – 2:30pm Thursdays.
The group will meet outdoors each week for the duration of the session. Weather appropriate clothing, footwear & a back pack will help make the sessions more comfortable.
This group is suitable for ages 6+ accompanied by an adult.
Meeting each week from 12:00pm – 2:30pm on the following dates:
Thursday 26th October, 2nd November, 9th November
We’ll have a weeks break on the 16th November, then be back for the remaining three weeks on
