At The Fox Guild - Nature Play the OT way our goals are to inspire a passion for free play in nature and to provide fun and social groups for children and their families.
Our programs are developed by an experienced Occupational Therapist who is passionate about using nature as a therapeutic tool to help children develop the skills necessary for participating in daily life activities. How can playing in mud help a child hold a pencil? Come along and find out!
Little Foxes Nature Play is a rain or shine outdoor group. This session is aimed towards children aged 0-5 and their parents/carers. Older siblings and other family members are more than welcome too! The membership fee covers all family members.
Getting outside and participating in a group activity has huge benefits, not only for children, but for grown-ups too! Bring a coffee, bring grandparents and enjoy a great social opportunity whilst soaking in some great 'Vitamin N’
Our You Yangs group meets at Lower Picnic Ground Area.
Little Foxes Nature Play has an emphasis on developing skills through social play with peers in the natural environment. Each session has a theme and a core activity. Your session plan handout will discuss the developmental benefits of the activities (the Occupational Therapy part of Little Foxes!). Free play in nature is encouraged. And there will be lots of mud!! We also sing songs and read books. And if it is really rainy, there is a great rotunda or trees to hide under!
Included in your membership is:
1. Access to an experienced Occupational Therapist to discuss any
developmental questions or concerns.
2. A detailed session plan with all the hidden OT discussed. This will be provided
in week one.
3. A registration pack will be emailed to you prior to the commencement of the
term. This will include further information about what to wear/bring and
